Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Data Scientist for Analytics to advance localization analytics within Content Product Analytics. The role emphasizes understanding user behavior, experimentation, and causal inference to inform product decisions.

The successful candidate will design ML/NLP models, build scalable data pipelines, and mentor a team of scientists and engineers while collaborating with cross-functional partners to influence roadmaps and dashboards across Expedia Group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Statistics, Economics, CS, Data Science or related field
• 8+ years in data science, analytics, or applied science in industry
• Strong background in statistical modeling and experiment design (A/B, quasi-experiments, causal inference)
• Hands-on experience building ML/NLP models at production scale (text classification, semantic similarity)
• Advanced SQL and Python for production-grade data pipelines
• Experience with large-scale unstructured text data and LLMs (prompt design, evaluation, RAG)
• Experience mentoring data scientists and building scalable dashboards
• Ability to influence product strategy through data storytelling

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy ML models to address business challenges and guide decisions
• Design and lead complex A/B and causal experiments and own localization experimentation framework
• Translate multilingual data insights into narratives for product and exec audiences
• Write SQL and Python to build scalable analytics pipelines and dashboards
• Collaborate to architect end-to-end data pipelines and production-scale systems
• Mentor junior data scientists and engineers for technical excellence
• Safely integrate AI/ML solutions, ensuring reliability, ethics, and scalability
• Co-own metric frameworks and decision workflows with product leaders
