Job summary

Expedia Group seeks a Data Scientist III, Analytics in London to apply advanced statistics and ML to supply optimisation and business challenges. You will independently manage analytics workstreams, mentor juniors, and engage regularly with stakeholders up to VP level.

You will extract and transform data, design measurement frameworks, build models, and communicate insights through visual storytelling to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4–6 years of data science/analytics experience across multiple projects.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data extraction, transformation, and visualization at scale.
• Strong understanding of regression, ANOVA, probability, and Bayesian approaches.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to supply optimisation challenges and deliver data-driven insights.
• Extract, structure, and transform data from multiple sources to build modelling data sets.
• Design and implement measurement frameworks, including A/B testing and causal analysis.
• Build, evaluate, and iterate on statistical models and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Develop clear data visualisations and narratives for stakeholders across technical levels.
• Lead small analytical workstreams end-to-end and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
