Ocado Group is seeking a Senior Data Scientist in Hatfield on a hybrid basis for a 12-month FTC. The role focuses on reducing order damages and improving NPS by consolidating data sources, bridging gaps, and applying advanced statistics and ML. You will deliver insights to guide operational investments and strategic decisions.
You will work with cross-functional teams to scope, plan, and deliver outputs, mentoring junior data scientists and communicating results to stakeholders.

Both behind the scenes within the warehouses and across the front end of the customer experience which means we now have an opportunity for a Senior Data Scientist to join the Team on a 12 month FTC.
This role forms part of the Ocado Logistics' Data Science team and will support the Customer Experience team, focusing on a high-impact project to investigate and mitigate order damages (such as crushing and spillages) that impact NPS and drive refund volumes. On this fixed-term contract, the successful candidate will consolidate disparate data sources, bridge existing tracking gaps, and apply advanced statistical analysis and machine learning models to identify key drivers to establish root cause causation and deliver corrective actions. Insights will directly inform strategic decision-making on where to prioritise future operational investments.
