Job summary

Cloudflare’s Engineering Team seeks an experienced data scientist or ML engineer to build and scale detection models that identify automated, fraudulent, and malicious activity at Internet scale. You will work with ML Engineers, Data Engineers, and Product to protect customers.

With 8–10 years in Data Science, ML, or software engineering, you’ll apply Python and SQL in production, evaluate models, and mentor teammates.

Qualifications

• Experience in detecting automated, fraudulent, or malicious activity at scale.
• Strong grounding in statistics, ML, and AI methodology.
• Proven ability to make high-stakes technical decisions with incomplete information.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the research, design, and evaluation of detection models for Internet-scale data.
• Mentor teammates on patterns and behaviors of adversaries vs legitimate users.
• Own the detection measurement framework and evaluation strategies.
