Job summary

Relation is recruiting a Senior Data Scientist to shape the next generation of generative and predictive models for cellular imaging. You will curate imaging datasets, design robust evaluation, and interpret foundation-model behavior to guide the wet-lab interface and data generation.

You will work with cutting-edge multiomic datasets, ML tooling, and a collaborative team to drive impactful insights and therapeutic strategies in London.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent industry experience in computational biology, bioinformatics, computer vision, biomedical engineering, or related field.
• Strong fluency with high-content imaging modalities (cell painting, brightfield), data quality judgement.
• Working knowledge of deep learning for imaging and model evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Curate training-ready imaging datasets across cell painting and brightfield assays.
• Design evaluation for imaging modalities with ML and data scientists.
• Interpret model behavior on cellular imaging and inform modelling decisions.
• Collaborate with wet-lab teams from plate design to data delivery.
• Contribute to multi-modal evaluation linking imaging to other data modalities.
• Communicate methodology and findings clearly across the team.
• Track advances in foundation models for biological imaging and apply relevant ones.
