Job summary

Woven by Toyota in Greater London is seeking a senior Data Scientist to drive the creation and deployment of sophisticated data models and algorithms for the Autonomy team. You will balance modern data approaches with safety standards and cost efficiency.

You will lead data-related activities across the Autonomy team and collaborate with stakeholders across time zones while mentoring colleagues. A Masters or PhD and 5+ years in related fields are required, with hands-on ML, data pipelines, and

Qualifications

• MSc/PhD in a quantitative field related to science/engineering.
• 5+ years in AD/ADAS, Robotics, Computer Vision, or Behavioral Planning.
• 3+ years in data science with ML, modeling, and evaluation.
• Experience building ML algorithms and data infra, including pre/post-processing.
• Proficiency in Python for data science and cloud services.
• 5+ years data science experience; 2+ years in tech lead or management.
• Hands-on with large-scale databases, temporal/spatial data, and ML deployments.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
• Japanese language skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop data strategies to collect, label, and leverage large data sources to improve ML models.
• Lead data-related activities across the autonomy team and collaborate with multiple teams across time zones.
• Analyze large-scale data and propose technical solutions for data curation and evaluation.
• Develop evaluation frameworks and metrics for planner performance and edge cases.
• Design scalable data pipelines and automation for ML and evaluation.
• Mentor team members and drive data science capability across Autonomy teams.
