Job summary

Woven by Toyota is seeking an experienced Autonomy Data Manager to lead a team of data scientists, data engineers and ML engineers. You will shape data strategy, drive data models and ensure production-quality data pipelines for end-to-end autonomy.

Based in the UK, you will collaborate across US, Japan and UK teams, balancing innovation with safety standards, and mentoring engineers to deliver high-impact ML solutions for perception, planning and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in ML, CS, Robotics, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years managing engineering teams with technical leadership.
• 8+ years in data science, data sampling, ML workflows, training, evaluation, deployment.
• Experience with large-scale data sources and efficient pipelines.
• Experience with robotics datasets, temporal data or sequential modeling.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to convey concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• Define the team's short- and long-term technical direction across Perception, Planning, Simulation, Infrastructure, and Tooling.
• Lead cross-functional teams toward common data development goals and unified solutions.
• Support data roadmap and data strategy from collection, to labeling, sampling, evaluation.
• Lead initiative execution with efficient processes, risk mitigation, and long-term improvements.
• Coach and develop team members; deliver high-quality algorithms and design reviews.
• Collaborate on data algorithms, pipelines, evaluation frameworks to boost ML model performance.
• Drive metrics for performance, safety, and quality; work in a high-velocity, globally distributed department.
