Job summary

Woven by Toyota is seeking an experienced Autonomy Data Manager to lead a team of Data Scientists, Data Engineers and ML Ops Engineers. You will shape data strategy, deploy data models, and drive data-driven planning and perception solutions across a globally distributed Autonomy team.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
• 8+ years of experience covering data science, data sampling and curation, machine learning workflows, pre-processing, model training, evaluation, deployment, and inference optimization.
• 3+ years of experience managing engineering teams with a focus on technical leadership and delivering high-impact projects in automotive industry.
• Experience with rigorous data science for large-scale data sources and highly efficient pipelines.
• Experience working with large-scale robotics datasets, temporal data and/or sequential modeling.

Responsibilities

• Define the team’s short-term and long-term technical direction across Perception, Planning, Simulation, Infrastructure, and Tooling.
• Initiate and influence cross-functional teams towards common data development goals and unified solutions.
• Support the data roadmap for the program and connect the team’s technical roadmap with actionable data strategy from collection to evaluation.
• Lead initiative execution by defining efficient processes, mitigating technical risks, and planning long-term improvements.
• Coach and develop team members through design reviews and rigorous initiative reporting.
• Collaborate on design, development, deployment, optimization, and evaluation of data algorithms and pipelines for ML models.
