Yorkshire Water is seeking a forward-thinking Senior Data Scientist to define and deliver cutting-edge ML solutions in Azure and Databricks. You’ll be Product Owner for Strategic Data Programme initiatives, guiding senior stakeholders and driving evidence-based decision-making across the business.

You will design and optimise models, foster technical excellence, and shape how data drives performance, sustainability, and innovation across Yorkshire Water. Flexible working patterns apply.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in statistical analysis and data science.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R and SQL.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
• Knowledge of data engineering, data manipulation and pipelines.
• Familiarity with QA, model performance evaluation and technical assurance.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver Data Science solutions using ML/AI, open data and cloud tech.
• Represent Data Team by owning Data & AI products and steering strategy.
• Prioritise and deliver data solutions aligned to business needs.
• Translate data into actionable insights to drive performance and transformation.
• Lead technical excellence through governance, coaching and QA across the team.
• Support the professional development of data scientists.
