Hippo is a growing digital consultancy delivering transformative digital solutions across public and private sectors in the UK. We seek a Senior Data Science Engineer to lead data-driven projects within multi-disciplinary teams, driving technical excellence and mentorship.

You will guide data science engineering efforts, deploy scalable ML solutions, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes for clients and society. The role offers growth and a clear progression path.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python and at least one of SQL, R or Java.
• Experience deploying and monitoring ML via MLOps tools (MLflow, AWS SageMaker, Azure ML).
• Track record delivering scalable data science solutions.
• Expertise in data manipulation, ML and statistical analysis libraries.
• Strong testing of data models and ML models.
• Deep understanding of product delivery from requirements to business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead production of user-centred data science solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design solutions for complex problems.
• Develop and expand data science capabilities and mentor engineers.
• Manage ML deployment pipelines and resolve bottlenecks.
• Mentor junior engineers in best practices.
