Capital One UK is seeking an experienced Senior Data Protection Manager to join our UK Compliance team in London or Nottingham. The role provides trusted, risk‑based advice on data protection and privacy, embedding FCA obligations across the business and focusing on privacy, customer outcomes, and technology intersections.

You will engage with senior stakeholders, review DPIAs and LIAs, and work with Product, Operations, Technology and Legal to operationalize data protection standards within

Qualifications

• Significant experience within UK financial services Compliance, Risk, Legal, or Data Protection, with a privacy focus.
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and ICO expectations; hands-on DPIAs/LIAs.
• Experience with FCA regulatory framework; apply Consumer Duty and conduct risk to processes.
• Strategic thinker with ability to manage senior stakeholders and advise executives.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for Board and Executive risk reports.

Responsibilities

• Act as senior SME on UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018; advise on privacy risks across products, customer journeys and emerging technologies like AI.
• Provide broad compliance expertise across FCA regulatory framework; support Consumer Duty and customer outcomes.
• Advise senior leaders and translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, proportionate solutions.
• Review DPIAs and LIAs to ensure data use supports good customer outcomes.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, Technology, Legal and Information Security to embed standards.
