Job summary

Clancy is seeking a standalone Data Protection Officer to advise at board level, challenge with confidence, and own data protection delivery across the business. You will lead the framework, ensure UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 compliance, and personally manage day-to-day activities to keep the company compliant.

You’ll be the main contact for data protection, work with leaders, clients and regulators, and translate changes in legislation into practical actions across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in data protection, privacy, compliance, legal, audit or risk.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain data protection framework across the business.
• Advise senior management and the Board on compliance, risk, priorities and actions.
• Manage data breaches and incidents, including investigation and reporting.
• Oversee data subject rights activity (DSARs, erasure requests, notices).
• Provide practical guidance to embed data protection in daily work.
