Job summary

Elsevier seeks a Senior Data Product Manager to own the attributes enabling product sale, from naming to publication of data. You will partner with the Head of Product Data and report to the Senior Director of EDA, shaping roadmaps and guiding cross-functional teams on a greenfield data publication initiative.

You will drive requirements, governance, and AI-enabled delivery, coaching analysts and delivering high-quality specs that impact how data is sold and used across multiple markets.

Qualifications

• Experience writing clear, well-constrained requirements and specifications.
• Independent ownership of a product or workstream end-to-end.
• Proven stakeholder management across complex multi-team environments.
• Deep knowledge of data management, including MDM and metadata management.
• Experience coaching junior or mid-level analysts.
• Product management experience or familiarity with academic publishing or federated enterprise MDM is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Engage stakeholders to elicit requirements and translate into specs.
• Prioritise work based on outcomes and business value.
• Build relationships across business and engineering teams and drive adoption.
• Write tighter, testable requirements up front with clear success criteria.
• Coach and develop junior analysts and support onboarding.
• Own a defined product area and shape roadmaps and long-term plans.
• Contribute to data governance and data flow documentation.
