Job summary

Referment, a fintech data platform company in London, is seeking a senior data product leader to turn data strategy into reliable, adopted products. The role is hands-on and not people-management, collaborating with the Product Director, data experts, designers and engineers across units.

You will shape the operating model for data-product delivery, bring pipelines into production, and define adoption metrics and success criteria to drive real business outcomes.

Referment is working with a financial technology business that provides AI-enabled valuation, portfolio-monitoring and data-extraction software to private-market investors. The business is strengthening the data platform behind its investment-monitoring and valuation products and is looking for a senior individual contributor to turn its data strategy into reliable, adopted products.

You will take delivery ownership of the foundational platform and core data products used across the organisation. This is a hands-on product role rather than a people-management position: you will work closely with the Product Director, subject-matter experts, designers and engineering teams distributed across business units, translating strategy into practical operating processes and shipped capabilities.

The Role

• Shape and implement the operating model for data-product delivery, making it work in day-to-day planning and execution.
• Bring foundational data pipelines and flagship data products into production with clear consumers, service expectations and adoption measures.
• Establish product practices covering intake, prioritisation, data contracts, lifecycle management and success metrics.
• Own and prioritise the roadmap across competing stakeholder needs while maintaining existing products against business goals.
• Write clear product requirements and delivery plans with product, data, design and engineering colleagues, using a lean, problem-first approach.
• Use qualitative and quantitative insight to understand internal users, identify opportunities and measure whether products change decisions and outcomes.
• Support rollout through stakeholder communication, training and practical end-user support.

What We're Looking For

• At least six years of hands-on product management experience, including three or more years owning data platforms or data products end to end.
• An earlier hands-on technical background in data engineering, software engineering, analytics engineering or a closely related discipline.
• The technical fluency to read data models, challenge pipeline designs and use SQL to test assumptions.
• Meaningful experience helping to build a data platform from a low-maturity starting point, with clear examples of what you personally delivered and shaped.
• A track record of building products around adoption, business outcomes and decisions rather than output alone.
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to work credibly with senior data engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort influencing teams you do not directly manage and constructively challenging established approaches.

Experience in private equity, venture capital, valuations or financial services would be useful, but it is not essential; strong platform and operating-model experience matters more. Familiarity with using AI tools to improve product workflows is also valuable.

This could suit a Senior Data Product Manager, Data Platform Product Manager or technically grounded Product Lead who has already helped build foundational data capabilities and wants to remain close to delivery.
