Job summary

LGBT Great in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Senior Risk & Compliance Consultant focused on Data Privacy to join our Birmingham team in a hybrid role.

You will support multiple client engagements across sectors, perform DPIAs, audits, and risk assessments, advise on privacy implications of AI, and lead a small team of consultants, collaborating with legal and information security colleagues.

Qualifications

• Proactive privacy advisory work and reactive support for incidents such as data breaches and DSRs.
• Experience delivering privacy risk assessments, DPIAs and policy development.
• Ability to explain privacy risks clearly to business stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple client engagements across sectors in a busy consultancy.
• Proactively assess and improve clients' data protection posture, including DPIAs and audits.
• Advise on privacy implications of AI and automated processing.
• Conduct third‑party privacy risk assessments and vendor due diligence.
• Produce structured audit reports with prioritized recommendations.
• Provide calm, pragmatic guidance during incidents and regulatory notifications.
• Deliver privacy training tailored to audiences and knowledge levels.
• Collaborate with legal, information security and business teams to embed privacy.
• Stay updated on GDPR, UK GDPR and evolving privacy guidance.
