Job summary

Chainalysis is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to tackle large-scale data platform challenges. You will own a data ingest Java service, optimize PostgreSQL workloads, and contribute to evolving architecture while building scalable AWS services. Expect to work with a cutting-edge stack and AI-assisted tooling.

You will collaborate across teams to deliver robust, high-throughput systems and improve reliability and performance in a security-focused blockchain analytics environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years PostgreSQL in production, with schema design, indexing, replication, and tuning.
• 8+ years building Java Spring Boot services, REST APIs, JDBC, pooling, and JVM profiling.
• Experience with Kafka or equivalent streaming systems and offset management.
• Proven track record operating distributed systems on AWS with Terraform and microservices.
• Strong cross-system debugging using tracing from metrics to logs.
• Comfort with AI-assisted development and agentic engineering practices.
• Bias to ship and iterate with product and design partners.
• Experience scaling large data systems to handle high throughput.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve the data ingest Java service for enriched transfers and aggregations.
• Design and tune PostgreSQL batching, indexing, and replication strategies.
• Contribute to next-generation architecture with PoCs and ADRs.
• Build and maintain scalable API services on AWS handling thousands of requests per second.
• Help automate network onboarding end-to-end.
• Debug production issues across microservices, define SLOs, and participate in on-call rotation.
• Integrate AI tools into engineering work and build automation for incidents and pipelines.
