Job summary

Moneybox is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and evolve our data platform, ensuring scalable pipelines and robust data quality. You will collaborate across Engineering and Insight teams to design, implement and maintain data architectures in a fast-moving environment.

You will apply advanced ETL/ELT patterns, work with Python, Spark and SQL on cloud platforms, and drive reliability, observability, and cost efficiency across data systems.

Qualifications

• Strong experience designing, building and operating scalable production data pipelines.
• Experience with ETL and ELT architectures.
• Strong programming and data transformation skills in Python, Spark and SQL.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms.
• Designing reliable, observable systems with data quality.
• Ability to take ownership of significant engineering work and decisions.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior technical partner within Data Engineering, providing continuity and ownership across the platform.
• Help set the technical direction and priorities for Data Engineering.
• Own, maintain and improve core data processing and analytic platforms for reliability and scalability.
• Design, build and maintain robust data pipelines and integrations across Moneybox systems.
• Lead data architecture changes and ingest new data sources.
• Partner with Backend Engineering and Insight teams on data models.
• Promote engineering practices and ensure data quality.
• Monitor performance, efficiency and cost of data processing.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers and analysts.
