Job summary

Burson, part of WPP, London, UK, is seeking a senior data engineer to lead the technical design and delivery of data pipelines and the Fount platform. You will mentor a junior engineer, collaborate with Product Owners in an Agile Jira setup, and build scalable Python services, SQL layers, and cloud integrations.

You will drive performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across ELT/ETL pipelines and analytics workloads, with a focus on Azure services and BI integrations in a hybrid working

Qualifications

• Substantial experience designing, building, and operating production data platforms.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, including Pandas and REST API integrations.
• Hands-on experience in Microsoft Azure ecosystem and related DevOps tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and delivery of data pipelines and platform components.
• Collaborate with Product Owners in an Agile Jira environment to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Build and maintain production-ready Python services and SQL transformation layers across cloud storage and databases.
• Optimise pipeline performance, reliability, and cost with robust monitoring and incident response.
