Job Purpose

As a Senior Platform Data Engineer, you will lead our Data Engineering team in a significant transformation involving Databricks and large-scale data management. You will work closely with Data Scientists and stakeholders to develop data solutions that add value to our business.

Job Accountabilities

• Develop scalable data pipelines for analytics and data science teams.
• Apply hands-on experience with Data Engineering technologies like Databricks, Spark, Python, SQL Server, Scala.
• Collaborate with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and DevOps to deploy ML models.
• Mentor team members to improve development standards.
• Work with Business Analysts to meet requirements and realize benefits.
• Create documentation and data catalogues for developed solutions.
• Oversee project deliverables and code quality for releases.

Key Skills Required

• Strong technical expertise in relevant Data Engineering technologies.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Problem-solving skills, organized, and outcome-oriented.

Technical Skills Required

• Experience designing and building cloud-based, big data solutions.
• Proficiency in Python, CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps.
• Experience with testing automation frameworks like Pytest or dbt.
• Skilled in SQL, data warehousing, schema tuning.
• IaC experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of ML workflows, distributed data frameworks like Spark, Flink, Hadoop.
• Experience with Databricks, data quality and lineage tools, data privacy principles.
• Experience in real-time data ingestion using Spark Streaming, Kafka, etc.
• Understanding of data science models, visualization tools, and cloud ecosystems like AWS.
