Job summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced Data Modeler (Collibra & Python) to support enterprise data modelling, metadata management, and governance initiatives within a complex financial-services environment in the UK.

The candidate will combine strong Python development with hands-on Collibra, data lineage, data quality, and regulatory data management. Responsibilities include designing asset models, configuring workflows, and building reusable libraries for ingestion and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
• Strong Python development experience for data modelling and governance.
• Hands-on Collibra or equivalent metadata management experience.
• Experience configuring Collibra asset models, metamodels, workflows and domains.
• Knowledge of metadata modelling, data lineage, quality and governance workflows.
• Practical use of Pydantic, schemas, validation and API-ready data structures.
• Experience with FastAPI, REST APIs, JSON, YAML, SQL, and integration.
• Ability to build reusable Python libraries and automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, enhance, and maintain asset models in Collibra aligned with governance.
• Define Collibra asset types, relations, domains, workflows, and operating models.
• Develop Python solutions for data modelling and governance use cases.
• Create reusable libraries and automation for ingestion, lineage, and reporting.
• Ensure performance, data integrity, traceability, and regulatory controls.
• Collaborate with data architects, engineers, risk/compliance teams, and stakeholders.
• Review AI-generated outputs for security, accuracy, and production readiness.
• Maintain technical documentation and governance procedures.
