Ofgem is seeking a Data Governance Specialist to enhance the quality and usability of Markets data. In this pivotal role, you will implement data governance policies and collaborate with stakeholders to foster a culture of data sharing and literacy. In this pivotal role, you’ll support the implementation of data governance policies, processes, and standards that enhance the quality, value, and usability of Markets data. Reporting to the Deputy Director, you’ll help shape and maintain the data governance framework, ensuring alignment with Ofgem’s wider data strategy.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders across all Markets directorates, promoting best practices in data management, fostering a culture of data sharing and literacy, and ensuring data is discoverable, usable, and fit for purpose.
You bring proven experience in data governance, data quality, or data management, with a strong ability to work across technical and non-technical teams. You’re a confident communicator, capable of influencing stakeholders and driving change across complex environments.
In this role, you will help support the delivery and embedding of the Data Governance Framework in the Markets group to enhance the quality, value, and usability of Markets data. You will provide data management and governance advice and guidance across all portfolios in the Markets Group, ensuring alignment with the overall Ofgem data governance framework. As a member of the Markets Data Management Office (MDMO), you will take direction from the Deputy Director to develop policies, processes, and guidelines for the Directorate General, with accountability for the delivery and maintenance of the data governance framework.
Additionally, you will engage with stakeholders across the Markets group to help foster an environment that promotes a culture of data sharing, protection, and discovery through the improvement of data literacy. Your responsibilities will include supporting the operationalization of the data governance framework and actively collaborating with data users within multiple forums. By working across a wider range of stakeholders, you will ensure that Markets data are discoverable, useable, governed, and fit for purpose.
