Job summary

VE3, a technology and business consultancy in the United Kingdom, is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to establish and maintain an enterprise information capability. You will unify records from varied sources, engineer repeatable ingestion processes, and ensure data is accurate, traceable, secure and ready for search, reporting and operational use.

The role requires strong SQL and Python, extensive data engineering experience, and the ability to collaborate with information architects

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a senior data engineering role with production-grade pipelines.
• Proficient in SQL and Python; ETL/ELT, APIs and structured/semi-structured data.
• Experience with data profiling, mapping, deduplication, validation and reconciliation.
• Knowledge of relational and/or document data platforms, version control, automated testing and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Data ingestion: design and build repeatable pipelines from files, databases, APIs and other sources.
• Data standardisation: profile, cleanse, deduplicate, transform and map data to metadata schema.
• Quality and control: implement automated validation and data-quality checks.
• Traceability: maintain source-to-target mappings, provenance and lineage records.
• Secure engineering: apply least-privilege access, secure processing and controlled environments.
• Integration and performance: optimise data stores and interfaces, ensure reliable updates.
• Sustainable operations: produce runbooks, monitoring guidance and transfer knowledge to ops teams.
