Job summary

Moneybox is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Data Engineering team and take ownership of the data platform, architecture and engineering standards. You’ll work closely with the Data Engineering lead, setting direction and delivering scalable pipelines, reliable data models and robust integrations across Moneybox systems.

You’ll operate with autonomy, drive practical technical decisions, and mentor engineers and analysts while shaping data strategies for insights and product teams.

Qualifications

• Strong experience designing, building and operating scalable production data pipelines.
• Solid ETL/ELT architectures and patterns.
• Proficient in Python, Spark and SQL for data transformation.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms.
• Designing for reliability, observability, performance and data quality.
• Understanding of data modelling and analytical data principles.
• Owns significant engineering work and communicates clearly.
• Independent problem solver with stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own, maintain and improve core data processing and analytical platforms with focus on reliability and scalability.
• Design, build and maintain data pipelines and integrations across Moneybox systems.
• Lead data architecture changes and significant integration work.
• Ingest new data sources and make them available across analytical platforms.
• Provide guidance to engineers and analysts working with the data platform.
• Collaborate with security/compliance to ensure data handling aligns with policy.
