Job summary

RSM UK is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Global VAT Team. You will design and deliver cloud-based data integration solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure, bridging client requirements with practical technical delivery.

You will work hands-on across discovery, design, deployment and support, building secure REST API and SFTP integrations, and contributing to data lakehouse and data pipeline projects. Excellent communication with stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience in Data Engineering and Data Integration.
• Strong SQL and Python development skills.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure data services.
• Strong understanding of ETL and ELT design principles.
• Experience building REST API and secure SFTP integrations.
• Experience with Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake Storage and Azure Data Factory.
• Experience integrating structured and semi-structured data sources.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with stakeholders.
• Ability to manage priorities across multiple client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data integration solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure.
• Lead discovery workshops and translate business needs into scalable technical designs.
• Develop and support data pipelines, lakehouses and warehouses.
• Create secure REST and SFTP integrations between systems and third parties.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts and project teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Monitor production data solutions and perform root cause analysis of incidents.
• Implement improvements to platform reliability, performance and maintainability.
