Job summary

Corndel Limited is seeking a Data Engineering Coach (Level 5) to mentor professionals in data engineering. This remote role serves to connect theory to practice through workshops and 1:1 coaching, aiding learners in their growth.

Successful candidates will have hands-on experience in data engineering, strong SQL and Python skills, and a commitment to developing others in a supportive and inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or closely related role.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL, Python, data modelling, and cloud platforms.
• Understanding of data security, privacy, and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor a caseload of learners through 1:1 sessions and workshops.
• Teach practical data engineering concepts grounded in real-world experience.
• Guide learners through assessments and portfolios with high standards.
• Model strong professional judgement around performance, cost, security, and ethics.

Skills

SQL (including complex queries and optimisation)

Python for data pipelines and automation

Data modelling and normalisation

Batch data pipeline design

Cloud data platforms (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP welcomed)

Understanding of data security, privacy, and ethical data use

Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting others

Ability to explain complex ideas clearly

Education

Hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or closely related role

Tools

Experience with tools such as Airflow, dbt, Spark, Databricks, CI/CD

Azure data engineering certifications
