Job summary

Ipsos in the UK is seeking a Senior/Lead Data Engineer to drive the evolution of Audience Measurement data platforms from Cambridge. You will lead a small team, shape architecture around managed cloud services, and collaborate with Product Managers and Production for scalable, observable pipelines.

We value hands-on engineers who can implement core architecture, manage cloud costs, and enable data science collaboration within an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive Data Engineering Experience using modern cloud providers (AWS or GCP).
• Experience with decomposed workloads and managed workflow services.
• Strong Python programming with clear data contracts and testable functions.
• Migration and testing experience for legacy systems with parity testing.
• IaC tools and containerized deployments for cloud resources.

Responsibilities

• Vision and Architecture: translate business needs into cost-conscious data architecture.
• Technical Leadership: line management and guidance for engineers, code reviews, architecture decisions.
• Platform Operations: ensure observability, documentation, and IaC driven operations.
• Hands-On Engineering: build event-driven, serverless data pipelines and manage cloud costs.
• Data Science Enablement: partner with data scientists to productionize models and establish data contracts.
• Agile Delivery: work with Product Managers to drive iterative capability delivery.
• Stakeholder Relations: explain technical trade-offs to non-technical audiences.
