Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com seeks a Senior Data Engineer to join the Insights & Enablement team within Retail Media Tech. You’ll shape scalable data pipelines powering advertiser campaigns and collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, product managers and engineers across the data platform.

You’ll build Gold Layer data marts in BigQuery with dbt Core, manage Airflow ELTs, ensure data quality, and contribute to architecture discussions.

Qualifications

• Senior-level data engineering experience with distributed systems and large-scale processing.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL across cloud data warehouses.
• Hands-on with dbt Core and Airflow for orchestration and transformation at scale.
• Strong data warehouse knowledge including dimensional modelling and layered architectures.
• Production experience on GCP and AWS; familiarity with observability tooling.
• Interest in AI/ML tooling and staying current with evolving data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines and event streaming architectures.
• Develop and maintain Gold Layer data marts in BigQuery using dbt Core.
• Create and manage Airflow-based ELT workflows across the data platform.
• Contribute to data governance, SLA/SLO monitoring and data quality validation.
• Collaborate with ML engineers and data scientists to productionise models.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards and documentation.
