Job summary

A hands-on Senior Data Engineer role in Oxford for a fast-growing energy intelligence company. You will work on building and evolving a centrally governed data platform using Fabric, Databricks and Azure, designing reliable pipelines, and delivering analytics-ready models.

You’ll collaborate with analysts and business stakeholders, embedding data quality and governance best practices while leveraging SQL and Python to integrate data from cloud and relational sources.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and Python proficiency.
• Hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms such as Fabric or Databricks.
• Experience with APIs and relational data sources; data modelling and governance.
• Design and implement reliable data pipelines with quality controls.

We’re looking for a hands‑on Senior Data Engineer with experience in Spark‑based platforms, ideally Fabric or Databricks, to help build and evolve the centrally governed business data platform, built with Fabric, Databricks and Azure

You’ll work with a team of Engineers to design and deliver reliable pipelines, transformations, and analytics‑ready models — supporting business teams across a fast‑growing, data‑driven organisation.

What you’ll be doing:

• Building and maintaining robust data pipelines (ingestion + transformation)
• Embedding data quality, validation and governance best practices
• Collaborating closely with analysts and business stakeholders

What you’ll bring:

• Strong SQL + Python
• Experience with modern cloud platforms (Microsoft Fabric or equivalent)
