Job summary

Harnham is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to modernise data platforms, improve data accessibility, and support international growth using a Microsoft technology stack. You will own a key area of the data platform, driving data quality, performance, and scalability.

Key responsibilities include designing ELT pipelines, developing with Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric, and delivering Power BI analytics.

Qualifications

  • Strong commercial SQL experience.
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and Azure cloud technologies.
  • ELT pipeline development, optimisation, and data integration expertise.
  • Experience supporting data migration and platform modernisation initiatives.
  • Expertise in Power BI and data visualisation.
  • Experience with legacy data models while delivering improvements.
  • Knowledge of Agile or Scrum delivery environments.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Python for automation or data scraping.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Analytics Engineer to join a growing, data-driven organisation at a key stage of its development. The Role

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will take ownership of a key area of the data platform and play an important role in enhancing data quality, performance, and scalability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, building, and optimising ELT pipelines across cloud-based data platforms.
  • Developing and maintaining data solutions using Azure, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and SQL.
  • Supporting data migration and platform modernisation initiatives.
  • Improving data processing efficiency and reducing data latency across multiple regions.
  • Working with both modern and legacy data models to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Developing and maintaining Power BI reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Implementing best practices around data quality, documentation, governance, and maintainability.
  • Collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust data solutions.
  • Contributing to architectural decisions and continuous improvement across the data platform.
Your Skills & Experience

To be successful in this Senior Analytics Engineer role, you should have:

  • Strong commercial expertise in SQL, which is a core requirement for the position.
  • Experience working with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Microsoft Fabric, and Azure cloud technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of ELT pipeline development, optimisation, and data integration.
  • Experience supporting data migration projects and modernising existing data environments.
  • Expertise in Power BI and data visualisation.
  • Experience working with legacy data models while delivering improvements and modernisation.
  • Knowledge of Agile or Scrum delivery environments.
  • The ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Python for automation or data scraping.
  • Azure DevOps, source control, and branching strategies.
  • Data warehousing, datamarts, and reporting databases.
  • Exposure to Data Science workflows and concepts.
