Job summary

Hitachi Solutions is expanding its consulting team in the UK, seeking a Senior Data Consultant to deliver bespoke analytics solutions for leading clients. You will advise on data practices and deliver BI platforms using the latest cloud technologies.

You will model data, design architectures, and implement ETL/data transformation while building dashboards to present clear insights. Strong client-facing skills and security clearance eligibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with data and analytics consulting for clients.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specs.
• Design and develop BI/analytics solutions using MS stack.
• Build dashboards with Power BI, QlikView and Tableau.
• Model, transform data and deliver ETL solutions.
• Hands-on Python experience.
• Familiar with Azure Data Factory and data platforms like Fabric/Databricks.
• Knowledge of Big Data, AI and ML concepts.
• Act as trusted advisor to clients and internal teams.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

We are expanding our consulting team and looking for Senior Data Consultants to join us on an exciting journey and be part of the Hitachi Solutions family.

In this role you will provide bespoke and advanced analytics solutions, delivering commercial advantage to some of the UK’s most recognised companies. You will advise clients on data and analytics practices and deliver solutions on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

• Advising clients on the best data and analytics practices and delivering solutions on time and to budget.
• Capturing client requirements and modelling data to develop an effective intelligence solution architecture.
• Developing or designing bespoke Data Platform, Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics solutions, leveraging the latest cloud technologies.
• Implementing solutions using best practices for the management and transformation of data.
• Designing and developing reports and dashboards to present information in a clear and informative manner.

Qualifications

• Strong client‑facing experience, previously working for a management consultancy or system integrator.
• Demonstrable experience designing or developing advanced business intelligence & analytics solutions using the full Microsoft BI stack (SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
• Design & development experience using data discovery tools such as Microsoft Power BI, QlikView, Tableau.
• Ability to model and transform data, build ETL solutions and present data in a useful business context.
• Hands‑on experience with modern programming languages such as Python.
• Familiarity with data integration tools like Azure Data Factory and data platform solutions such as Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks.
• Experience or awareness of Big Data and Data Science and/or AI technologies, including the integration of Machine Learning models and/or Generative AI components.
• Experience within the Data Engineering and AI domain, acting as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
