Job summary

Hitachi Solutions Europe Limited is expanding its data, analytics and AI practice and seeks Lead Data Consultants to join the team. You will deliver bespoke data and analytics solutions using modern cloud technologies across UK clients, guiding projects from design to delivery and mentoring junior staff.

You will draw on 10+ years of experience in cloud data engineering, analytics and AI, with client-facing consultancy exposure and strong Python/SQL skills.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in cloud Data Engineering, Analytics, and AI solutions.
• Client-facing consultancy or SI leadership experience.
• Proficient in Python and SQL.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and Databricks.
• Strong Power BI, Tableau or QlikView analytics expertise.
• Experience designing ETL/ELT and data warehouses.
• Security clearance eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advisory on analytics and data engineering best practices, delivering scalable solutions.
• Lead teams and projects from requirements gathering to solution design and implementation.
• Capture client requirements and lead the development of solution architectures for current and future needs.
• Design and develop data platforms, BI & analytics solutions leveraging cloud tech.
• Lead design, implementation, and optimisation of data engineering on Fabric and Databricks with secure, scalable data products.
• Build dashboards and reports with Power BI for clear, actionable insights.
• Guide data modelling and transformation, developing optimized ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge across teams.

We are growing our consulting team and looking for Lead Data Consultants to join us on our exciting journey and be part of the Hitachi Solutions family.

This is a unique and challenging opportunity for an experienced Data Consultant to join the Data, Analytics & AI practice of Hitachi Solutions Europe.

In this role you will be providing bespoke and cutting edge data and advanced analytics solutions, bringing significant commercial advantage to some of the UK’s most recognised companies.

The successful candidate will draw upon their experience with business intelligence tools and techniques and to advise clients on data and analytics best practices and deliver data and analytics solutions on time and to budget.

The main areas of responsibility are

• Provide expert advisory services to clients on advanced analytics and data engineering best practices, ensuring delivery of scalable and efficient solutions.
• Lead teams and projects, supporting all aspects of delivery from requirements gathering to solution design and implementation.
• Capture client requirements and lead the development of solution architectures that meet both current and future business needs.
• Designand develop bespoke Data Platform, Business Intelligence & Advanced Analytics solutions, leveraging the latest cloud technologies.
• Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of enterprise data engineering solutions on Microsoft Fabric and Azure Databricks, delivering robust, secure, and scalable data products that support analytics, reporting, and AI use cases.
• Build and oversee the development of dynamic, interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI, ensuring clear, actionable insights for clients.
• Guide teams in data modelling and transformation efforts, ensuring the development of optimised data architectures, including the design of ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to support their professional development.

Qualifications

We are looking to hire ambitious consulting professionals who combine their technical acumen with a genuine enthusiasm for improving organisations:

• 10+ years of experience designing and delivering cloud-based Data Engineering, Analytics, and AI solutions, ideally within a consulting or systems integration environment.
• Extensive experience in a client-facing role, previously working for a consultancy or systems integrator, with a proven track record of leading teams or projects.
• Hands‑on experience with modern programming languages such as Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with data integration tools like Azure Data Factory and Data platform solutions such as Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks
• Expertise in data visualisation and analytics using Power BI, QlikView or Tableau.
• Strong experience in data modelling and transformation, including the design of ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing solutions
• Experience or awareness of Big Data and Data Science and/or AI technologies, including the integration of Machine Learning models and/or Generative AI components.
• Demonstrated leadership within the Data Engineering and AI domain, acting as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and client management skills, with proven experience of leading teams.
• All applicants must either hold active Security Clearance or be eligible to obtain Security Clearance.
