Job summary

Nova Artes Engineering in the North West is seeking a Data Centre Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of a critical facility. You will steer engineering and facilities teams, ensuring uptime, resilience and customer satisfaction while maintaining strict compliance with health & safety requirements.

The role involves managing planned and reactive maintenance, contractor performance, change control, and incident response.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience within a data centre, critical facility or mission-critical environment.
• Strong electrical and/or mechanical engineering knowledge.
• Experience leading engineering teams.
• Experience managing PPM and reactive maintenance programmes.
• Contractor and supplier management experience.
• Strong Health & Safety and compliance knowledge.
• Experience managing critical incidents and high-risk works.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Overall operational management of the data centre.
• Lead, manage and develop engineering and facilities teams.
• Ensure maximum availability and resilience of critical infrastructure.
• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance.
• Manage specialist contractors and service providers.
• Manage critical works, change control and permit-to-work processes.
• Ensure Health & Safety and site procedures are followed.
• Manage incidents, escalations and emergency response.
• Review RAMS, permits and safe systems of work.
• Monitor KPIs, SLAs and overall site performance.
• Support budgets, lifecycle planning and CAPEX/OPEX activity.
• Drive continuous improvement across engineering and operations.
• Maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders.
