Job summary

Fortnum & Mason seeks a Data and Reporting Engineer to build and optimise Power BI-based analytics. You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate business questions into scalable BI solutions, shaping data pipelines and semantic models within Azure Synapse, Data Lake, and Fabric.

You will lead reporting delivery, ensure data quality, and promote best practices for governance and end-user experience across the organisation.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years’ experience in BI/Reporting or Data Engineering roles.
Experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines from ingestion to consumption.
Strong programming in Python for data processing and automation.
Proficient with Azure data services and Power BI governance.

Responsibilities

Translate business requirements into clear reporting and analytics solutions.
Design, build and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports and scorecards.
Develop semantic models, relationships and DAX measures for consistent metrics.
Create reusable datasets and governed self-service analytics content.
Own the reporting lifecycle from discovery to adoption and improvement.
Define KPIs with stakeholders and ensure accurate metric definitions.
Monitor report usage, performance and refresh reliability; troubleshoot issues.
Support Power BI and Fabric reporting assets including dataflows and semantic models.
Lead data pipelines and data platform design feeding reporting needs.
Collaborate with Data Engineering on architecture and quality improvements.
Ensure data governance, security, and compliance across pipelines.
