Job summary

Capital One UK is hiring a Senior Manager Architect - Data to shape the architectural direction of a large, cloud-based data ecosystem. You will influence senior stakeholders and steer initiatives across Spark, PySpark, Airflow, and ML/AI enablement.

You’ll lead architecture artefacts, promote Enterprise standards, and collaborate with Product, Engineering and Data Governance to unlock business value. This role offers hybrid work in London or Nottingham.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Senior Manager Architect with data-led org experience.
• Deep knowledge of distributed data processing architectures.
• Expertise in streaming data and data governance.
• Experience with ML/Generative AI within architecture lifecycle.
• Strong communication across tech, product and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Shape architecture direction for data ecosystem across cloud-scale processing and storage.
• Influence senior stakeholders and enterprise partners on key decisions.
• Own reference architectures and architecture decision records.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Data Governance to unlock business value.
• Advocate for data technology adoption and enterprise standards.
• Drive architecture simplification and standardisation across the team.
• Lead architectural design reviews and foster best practices.
