Job summary

Capital One UK is seeking a Senior Manager Architect - Data to lead architectural direction across cloud-scale data processing, storage and data products. The role is based in London or Nottingham with a hybrid pattern: three in-office days (Tue–Thu) and two days remote, enabling collaboration with Engineers, Data Scientists and governance teams.

You will shape reference architectures, drive standards across the enterprise, and partner with Product Management and analytics stakeholders to unlock

Qualifications

• Hands-on Senior Manager Architect in a large, complex data-led organisation.
• Deep understanding of cloud-scale data technologies and distributed processing.
• Experience with streaming data, event-driven design and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Shape the architecture direction for the data ecosystem across cloud-scale processing, storage and consumption.
• Influence senior stakeholders and enterprise partners on key technology decisions.
• Own and evolve architecture artefacts including reference architectures and architectural standards.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Cyber, and data communities to unlock business value through data tech.
• Advocate for the data ecosystem and drive adoption of enterprise standards and patterns.
• Promote simplification and UK-wide standardisation across architecture, processes and technologies.
• Grow architecture excellence and lead technical design reviews within the team and enterprise architecture.
• Collaborate with UK architecture peers and the wider enterprise architecture group.
