Job summary

Capital One UK is seeking a Senior Manager Architect in Data to shape the architecture of a cloud-based data ecosystem. You will lead cross-functional teams, influence senior stakeholders, and define standards for distributed data processing, data lakes, and data products.

You will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and governance teams to drive real-time data capabilities, ML/AI readiness, and scalable data platforms across the organization.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Senior Manager Architect in a large data-led organisation.
• Deep expertise in distributed data processing and Data LakeHouse concepts.
• Experience with AWS data services and data governance.
• Familiarity with ML/AI workflows and GenAI basics is a plus.
• Strong communication with senior stakeholders across tech, product and business.

Responsibilities

• Shape the architecture direction for cloud-scale data processing across the data ecosystem.
• Influence senior stakeholders and enterprise partners, gaining consensus on key decisions.
• Own and evolve architecture artefacts including reference architectures and technical standards.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Cyber and data teams to unlock business value.
• Advocate for the data ecosystem and drive adoption aligned with standards.
• Drive UK standardisation and reuse of appropriate SaaS solutions and platforms.
