Job summary

Datatonic is seeking a Principal Data Architect to design and implement scalable data solutions on Google Cloud, working with data engineers and analytics teams. You will consult with clients to gather requirements and deliver robust architectures, data models, and governance practices.

You will mentor engineers, lead end-to-end data projects, and help shape data strategy across multiple client engagements, leveraging BigQuery, Snowflake, dbt, and related technologies.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing data warehouses/lactehouses with modern tools.
• Strong data modeling expertise (3NF, Data Vault, Star Schema, OBT).
• Proven data governance, security, privacy controls baked in.
• Ability to lead data architecture from concept to production.
• Excellent problem-solving with a solid technical foundation.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver data-driven solutions using Google Cloud and partner tech.
• Define data architecture, governance, and security standards.
• Mentor engineers and provide architectural direction.
• Apply advanced data modeling techniques and optimize implementations.
• Shape data strategy with clients and ensure end-to-end production readiness.
• Collaborate across Architecture, Engineering, and Data Science teams.
