About the role

Police Digital Service (PDS) is recruiting on behalf of the NPCC National Data & Analytics Office, a dedicated national capability transforming data use in policing. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a ground-breaking function within policing, shaping the future of data and analytics in UK law enforcement and enhancing public protection.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of data analytics frameworks and methodologies.
• Provide expert guidance on data analytics standards and governance.
• Engage with national and local policing stakeholders to align initiatives with operational needs.
• Develop and maintain national data analytics capabilities and tools.
• Establish and drive adoption of national data standards.
• Build and sustain relationships with stakeholders and external partners.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of data analytics initiatives.
• Drive innovation and adoption of emerging analytics technologies.

Requirements

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Python, R, Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience leading large-scale data initiatives, preferably in the public sector.
• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and develop analytics capabilities.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance (GDPR, etc.).
• Degree or equivalent experience in data science, analytics, or related fields.

Additional info

This is a remote role with occasional travel. Candidates must be eligible for NPPV3 and SC vetting clearances prior to employment.
