Job summary

Harnham is seeking a Data Analyst to join a remote-first team with one mandatory in-office day per month in Leeds. You will deliver workforce, pay and reward analysis, build Excel models, and forecast financial outcomes to support evidence-based policy and planning.

The role requires advanced Excel, Pivot Tables, VBA and strong communication skills to present insights to senior stakeholders. A STEM degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel skills with complex models
• Experience with formulas, Pivot Tables, VBA and macros
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving ability
• Experience modelling complex business, workforce, or financial scenarios
• Ability to work with large datasets and extract insights
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Experience presenting to non-technical stakeholders
• STEM degree in mathematics, statistics, economics or related
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities

Responsibilities

• Deliver workforce, pay, and reward analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Build and maintain complex Excel-based models to forecast workforce and financial outcomes.
• Develop cost modelling for pay proposals, policy changes, and workforce initiatives.
• Create scenario analysis and long-term forecasts incorporating workforce growth, attrition, and inflation.
• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Translate business and policy questions into analytical specifications and modelling frameworks.
• Produce clear reports and recommendations for non-technical audiences.
• Present findings and analytical insights to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with policy teams and external stakeholders to support evidence-based decisions.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of analytical methodologies and best practices.
