Your Role in a Nutshell
- Extract actionable insights from large data sources and communicate findings effectively through reports, dashboards, and presentations.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate these into clear analysis requirements.
- Identify opportunities to apply advanced analytics techniques like marketing analytics, predictive modeling, and machine learning to add value.
- Utilize robust statistical methods and communicate your methodology clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Work comfortably with large, diverse datasets, including structured and unstructured data.
- Use tools for data analysis and visualization, including business intelligence platforms.
- Gather, blend, and analyze data from various systems and sources, including open data for context.
- Understand data platforms and pipelines conceptually and identify data quality issues.
- Apply data cleaning and management techniques, and advise on data improvements.
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of new analysts and mentor junior team members.
- Promote Hippo’s brand internally and externally through blogs, case studies, workshops, and speaking engagements.
About The Candidate
- Proven experience as a data analyst, skilled in exploring, summarizing, and presenting data appropriately.
- Proficient in data cleansing, analysis, modeling, and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Looker Studio.
- Experience with web analytics platforms like Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics.
- Experience working with large data warehouses or lakes.
- Familiarity with cloud analytics platforms such as AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Google Cloud, Spark, and Splunk.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with languages like R, Python, Scala, or Julia.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to interpret client needs.
- Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to advocate for data-driven decision-making.
- Mentoring and coaching skills, with a passion for developing junior analysts.
- Desirable: experience in the public sector or consulting.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning and adapting to new technologies and client needs.
