What does the team do?

The Solutions Analytics Team provides actionable data and insights across the Ocado Smart Platform, focusing on operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and partner success. In last-mile operations, we aim to improve delivery efficiency, sustainability, and precision, ensuring peak performance for our partners. The team leads cross-functional analytics projects, collaborating internally and externally to innovate, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.

About The Role

As a Last Mile Senior Analyst, you will derive insights to optimize the final delivery stage of orders. Your strategic and technical expertise will support Ocado Solutions' mission to transform last-mile logistics. Key focus areas include network planning, resource allocation, and routing efficiency for UK and international partners. Responsibilities include:

Strategic Direction

• Support the development of last-mile analytics strategy aligned with company goals and industry trends.
• Ensure data insights target KPIs such as delivery speed, cost efficiency, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop data-driven strategies for route optimization, network design, and customer experience improvements.

Insights And Analysis

• Create models to forecast and optimize last-mile efficiency, driver routing, and capacity utilization.
• Apply statistical, machine learning, and data analysis techniques to extract actionable insights from delivery and customer data.
• Monitor performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and recommend operational improvements.

Tooling And Reporting

• Develop dashboards, automated alerts, and self-service tools for real-time performance insights.
• Work with tech teams to integrate analytics into operational workflows, ensuring insights lead to tangible improvements.
• Utilize platforms like Looker for data visualization and storytelling.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Provide insights and strategic advice to partner-facing teams.
• Collaborate with Ocado Technology to improve the Ocado Smart Platform.
• Potentially work directly with international partners to support operations and strategy.

Team Development

• Promote best practices in data analysis and mentor team members through coaching and career development.

What We’re Looking For

Essential skills and experience:

• Proficiency in SQL, BigQuery, and programming languages like Python or R.
• Experience with visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Data Studio.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate into strategies.
• Focus on delivering insights and implementing data-driven recommendations.
• Experience in last-mile logistics, home delivery, or related fields.
• Knowledge of advanced analytics techniques like machine learning and route optimization.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in supply chain optimization and delivery networks.
• Understanding of eCommerce customer behavior and operational metrics.
• Experience with sustainability metrics and eco-friendly delivery solutions.
• Track record of deploying data solutions at scale with partners.
