Job summary

Formula. in London is hiring a Senior Data Analyst to own and build the data platform. This hands-on hybrid role combines developing dbt models on BigQuery with turning business questions into reliable metrics and insights for product, commercial and finance teams.

You will work across finance, compliance, marketing and revenue, ensure data quality, document lineage and support forecasting and planning. The role offers up to £90,000 base salary, equity options and direct access to leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering or senior analytics, ideally in fintech or another regulated environment.
• Strong SQL and hands-on dbt experience, with BigQuery preferred.
• Experience with regulatory reporting and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own dbt models on BigQuery from raw transactional data through to reporting layers.
• Model data across finance, compliance, product, marketing and revenue with data quality testing.

Job description

We've partnered with a fast-growing, regulated fintech scale-up in London. It's a genuinely different product with a growing international footprint and hundreds of millions of pounds already moving through the platform.

They're hiring a Senior Data Analyst to take full ownership of their data platform. This is a hands‑on hybrid role. You'll build and run the pipelines behind their regulated reporting, and you'll also work with Product and commercial teams to turn their questions into metrics, models and recommendations.

What you'll be doing:

• Owning dbt models on BigQuery, from raw transactional data through to business and reporting layers
• Modelling data across finance, compliance, product, marketing and revenue, with data quality testing built in
• Running the regulatory reporting pipeline end to end, including reconciliations and a clear audit trail
• Migrating legacy reports onto a modern, tested pipeline
• Keeping documentation, lineage and the data catalogue current
• Building self-serve datasets and supporting forecasting and planning

What you'll bring:

• 5+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering or senior analytics, ideally in fintech or another regulated environment
• Strong SQL and hands‑on dbt experience, with BigQuery preferred
• Solid modelling fundamentals: incremental models, lineage and testing
• Experience with scheduled pipelines and file delivery integrations
• Exposure to financial or regulatory reporting and reconciliation
• Python for automation
• Confidence working with non-technical stakeholders and turning ambiguity into clear metrics
