Job summary

Databricks in London seeks an experienced Sr. Solutions Architect to own the most complex customer engagements, driving consumption strategy and executive-level partnerships. You will advocate for enterprise data and AI strategies across multi-workload platforms and migrations.

You will lead architecture engagements, mentor SAs, and shape competitive approaches while collaborating with DSAs, SSAs, Partners, and Product teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in solutions architecture, principal engineering, technical pre-sales leadership, or a senior customer-facing technical role.
• Expert-level coding proficiency — Python, SQL, and ideally Spark/PySpark.
• Deep expertise in enterprise data architecture: distributed systems at scale, streaming/real-time, lakehouse design patterns, data governance frameworks, and cloud-native platforms.
• Expert-level Databricks Platform knowledge (or equivalent depth in competing platforms).
• Declared technical specialisation with recognised depth — e.g., real-time architectures, ML/AI platforms, data governance, migrations.
• Proven track record of driving consumption growth and platform adoption in large accounts.
• Executive presence — influence at Directors/VPs/C-level on data and AI strategy.
• Experience leading competitive displacements and complex enterprise evaluations.
• Strong strategic thinking — aligning architecture with business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical and consumption strategy for the most complex customer engagements.
• Own senior-level technical relationships and serve as a trusted advisor on data/AI strategy.
• Lead architecture engagements: multi-workload platforms, migrations, real-time systems, AI/ML at scale.
• Be an Expert on the Databricks Platform and mentor others.
• Develop competitive strategies positioning Databricks against peers.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
• Coach junior SAs on depth, engagement, and use-case prioritisation.
• Contribute to Field Engineering thought leadership with customer content and workshops.
