Job summary

J.P. Morgan in the CT AWM Finance division seeks a Software Engineer III to join an agile team delivering trusted, scalable technology products. You will design and deliver production code across complex applications for MIS Finance and regional CFO teams.

You will work with Python, data engineering, and AI-assisted development tools, ensuring security, reliability, and operational stability across enterprise platforms. This role supports a global financial platform with strong governance.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks and AWS.
• Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficiency in Python coding.
• Understanding of CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Curiosity and foundational understanding of Generative AI, large language models, and AI/ML solutions.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools with validation of outputs.

Responsibilities

• Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine to build solutions.
• Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run with appropriate systems.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure design constraints are met by code.
• Gather, analyze, and visualize data from large datasets to improve software applications and systems.
• Proactively identify hidden data problems and drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contribute to engineering communities of practice and explore new technologies.
• Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, with peer review.
• Apply SDLC tools, including AI-assisted development, to enhance automation value.
