Job summary

Legal & General in the UK is seeking a Data, AI & Emerging Technology Risk Manager to join Group Risk. You will oversee data, AI and evolving technology risks and collaborate with business units to strengthen controls and embed risk frameworks.

The role requires experience in data/AI/tech risk within financial services, plus strong governance and stakeholder management. Flexible working options and a focus on responsible technology adoption are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in data, AI, technology or operational risk within financial services.
• Strong knowledge of data governance and management (architecture, ownership, stewardship, quality, MDMS).
• Understanding of AI, cloud platforms and emerging technologies such as quantum computing, robotics and AI agents.
• Experience overseeing risk processes and assessing data/AI/technology/privacy issues.
• Ability to analyse complex information and translate findings into practical recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaborative approach.
• Experience aligning risk management frameworks with business strategy.
• Relevant degree or professional qualification (CRISC, CISA, CISSP, CDMP, DCAM) beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide group-wide oversight of data, AI and emerging technology risk and controls.
• Partner with divisional and group teams to strengthen controls and support growth.
• Develop risk frameworks for AI agents, quantum computing, robotics, citizen development and low-code apps.
• Review data and AI policies, standards and frameworks and assess embedding.
• Monitor emerging technologies and regulatory developments to identify risks.
• Produce insights and recommendations for senior management decisions.
• Develop risk reporting, measures, and metrics from risk systems.
• Provide SME on technology initiatives to support fair customer outcomes.
