Job summary

Calyx in London is seeking a Cyclotron Engineer to join a small, specialist team at the West London clinical imaging centre. You will support the maintenance and operation of two Siemens RDS Eclipse cyclotrons, enabling production of 11C and 18F isotopes for TR and DPS studies.

The role requires significant autonomy, with responsibilities spanning troubleshooting, on‑call support, safety, and continuous improvement. Night shifts on a rotating basis are expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in electronics or mechanical engineering or related technology.
• 5+ years’ experience in PET cyclotron operation and maintenance.
• Fluency in English and strong safety compliance.
• Strong troubleshooting and independent work capability.

Responsibilities

• Manage Cyclotron Operations and associated systems maintenance.
• Provide on‑call and out‑of‑hours engineering support.
• Maintain cyclotrons and supporting systems (ACS and RNDS).
• Deliver reliable cyclotron operations including training and parts inventory management.
• Operate and maintain RNDS and the Air Compressing Station at the clinical imaging centre.
