Job summary

A leading global insurance business is seeking a Senior Cyber Underwriter to join its regional team in the UK. You will underwrite new business and renewals across Cyber, manage a profitable portfolio, and act as a senior technical mentor within the group.

Based in Manchester, with flexibility to cover Birmingham or Glasgow, the role requires strong broker relationships and a proactive approach to developing the Cyber proposition.

Qualifications

• Strong technical understanding of Cyber risks and market.
• Experience underwriting a Cyber portfolio including new business and renewals.
• Ability to mentor junior underwriters and act as senior technical referral point.
• Excellent broker and stakeholder management skills.
• Cyber broking background considered with proven technical Cyber expertise.

This is a senior technical position, with responsibility for underwriting a portfolio of Cyber business across both new business and renewals. The successful candidate will also act as a key technical resource within the team, supporting the development and mentoring of more junior Underwriters.

• Act as a senior technical referral point for the wider team
• Support and mentor Junior Underwriters

The ideal candidate:

• Good technical understanding of Cyber risks and the wider Cyber market
• Experience managing a portfolio and making underwriting decisions
• Comfortable acting as a senior technical resource and mentoring junior colleagues
• Strong broker and stakeholder management skills
• Candidates from a Cyber broking background may also be considered where they can demonstrate strong technical Cyber expertise
