Job summary

Yorkshire Building Society is seeking a Principal Cyber Security Engineer to act as a senior technical authority, guiding information and cyber security across the organisation. The role combines hands-on engineering with governance and collaboration across architecture and change teams.

You will translate complex risks into business decisions, lead security practices, and ensure security is embedded in transformation initiatives while developing expertise in modern cyber technologies.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in cyber security engineering, including modern tooling and secure design principles.
• Ability to bridge technical, risk, and business perspectives and translate security requirements into solutions.
• Experience in threat identification, vulnerability management, and identity & access management, with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive consistent, high-quality security engineering practices across the organisation.
