Job summary

Experis is partnering with a UK organisation to hire a Senior Cyber Security Engineer in Manchester on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on owning the security posture across Azure, web platforms, and identity services within a cloud-first strategy.

You will lead the implementation of WAF controls (Cloudflare, Akamai) and secure-by-design principles across apps, APIs, and infrastructure while collaborating with DevOps and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on cyber security engineering or security architecture experience.
• Strong experience securing Azure environments, including Defender for Cloud and Entra ID.
• Practical expertise managing WAF technologies such as Cloudflare or Akamai.

Responsibilities

• Own and enhance the security posture of Azure, web estate, and identity platforms.
• Lead WAF technologies to protect against evolving threats.
• Implement and improve web ingress controls including DDoS protection and certificate management.
• Embed secure-by-design practices across applications, APIs, and infrastructure.
• Drive security in DevOps and CI/CD through shift-left initiatives.
• Manage Defender for Cloud and remediate security risks.
• Own Entra ID security controls including Conditional Access and identity governance.
• Define security standards and governance for scalable delivery.
• Coordinate investigations with Arctic Wolf and security partners.
• Support secure AI adoption with appropriate controls and risk management.
