Job summary

Experis is partnering with a UK organisation to strengthen its cyber security across web platforms, Azure cloud, and identity services. A Senior Cyber Security Engineer will own security posture and embed best practices across infrastructure and delivery teams.

The role involves managing WAF technologies, Entra ID controls, and security guardrails to enable secure innovation in a cloud-first environment. Hybrid work with occasional office presence in Manchester.

Qualifications

• Hands-on cyber security engineering or security architecture experience.
• Strong Azure security setup with Defender for Cloud and Entra ID.
• Proven ability to manage WAF tech (Cloudflare/Akamai) and secure APIs.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve the security posture of Azure, web estate and identity platforms.
• Lead WAF management across Cloudflare and Akamai to mitigate threats.
• Improve web ingress controls including DDoS protection and cert management.
• Embed secure-by-design in applications, APIs, and infra with DevOps teams.
• Promote shift-left security in CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Manage Defender for Cloud and remediate risks across the estate.
• Oversee Entra ID security controls, conditional access and governance.
• Define security standards and governance for scalable delivery.
• Coordinate with Arctic Wolf and security partners for investigations.
